AFEE Committee for Regional and International Conferences (CORIC)

Call for Funding Proposals

In line with AFEE’s strategic priorities, CORIC launches a call to current members for funding proposals that:

  • Expand AFEE’s presence in new or underrepresented regions;
  • Foster sustained collaborations and networks;
  • Contribute to membership growth and engagement;
  • Promote institutional economics in ways that would not otherwise be possible.

Types of Activities Supported
Funding is available for a range of initiatives that promote institutional economics, including:

  • Organized panels or sessions at academic conferences
  • Workshops or mini-conferences
  • Thematic streams or coordinated multi-session proposals
  • Other innovative formats that advance institutional economics internationally

While individual travel support may be considered, priority will be given to collective initiatives.

Early-Career Researchers
Proposals that include meaningful participation of early-career scholars, for example as presenters, organisers, or beneficiaries of dedicated activities will receive priority consideration.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be active (paying) members of AFEE by the end of 2026
  • Proposals may involve non-members; however, organisers are expected to demonstrate a clear plan for converting participants and beneficiaries into AFEE members, in line with CORIC’s objective of membership growth
  • To promote broad participation, priority may be given to applicants who have not received recent CORIC funding

Application Requirements
Proposals should include:

  1. Applicants’ information and short bio
  2. Description of the activity (including conference/event details and list of presenters)
  3. Purpose of the session or activity proposed
  4. An explanation of its relevance to institutional economics and to AFEE’s mission in promoting institutional economics
  5. Tangible expected outcomes and targets, including contributions to:
    • Membership growth, including the expected number of new AFEE members and how these will be achieved
    • Network development
    • Future collaborations or outputs
  6. Details of participants, including ECR involvement where applicable
  7. Budget and detailed justification, including demonstration of financial need and matched funding

Responsibilities of Awardees
Successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Organise and deliver the proposed activity
  • Acknowledge AFEE support in all relevant materials
  • Actively promote AFEE and seek to secure membership from participants and beneficiaries of the funded activity
  • Submit a brief post-event report outlining activities and outcomes, including evidence of membership uptake and progress toward the stated membership targets

Submission of this report is required for eligibility for future CORIC funding. The extent to which proposals achieve their stated membership objectives will be taken into account in future funding decisions.

Funding

  • Maximum reimbursement: $1,000 per proposal
  • CORIC may allocate funds across different categories of proposals, and may reserve a portion of funds for underrepresented regions.

Submission Process
Deadline: 31st May 2026
Please submit proposals (or any queries) directly to CORIC’s chair, Danielle Guizzo: [email protected]
